Filmmaker duo and native New Yorkers Michael Kuhn and Niles Roth draw our attention to the personal experience of a single EMT working the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Renard “Storm” Haynes began his career as an EMT at the age of 19 after rescuing a drowning child at the beach. Having felt the power of helping others, he knew that he had found his calling. Fast forward to 2020. Even as frontline workers are heralded as heroes, their individual struggles often don’t get told. Behind each person is a story of sacrifice — a life forever changed by the experience of trying to help fight the impossible.
