Love this collaboration from 22 year-old Brooklyn rapper Lauren Declasse and NYC-based cinematographer Jake Saner. Inspired by Declasse’s childhood and experiences in East New York, “Evisu” is an ode to a community that “despite being burdened by struggle, will lift you with love and support if you embrace it.” Offering a poetic portrait of the day-in-the-life of a young boy in one of the roughest neighourhoods in Brooklyn, Saner explains:

“After witnessing a fight and having a run in with the corner deli owner the young boy runs home to find some peace, but it is as tumultuous there as it is on the streets. Back outside, he finds himself surrounded by the mysterious hood angels, all in white. With a hint of fear in his eyes the young boy hopes for the best.”
