An offbeat take on the future of media by Rotterdam-based director Puck Litaay. Drawing a stark comparison between the way we consumed information collectively in the past, and the more individualized ways we access it now, “A Death in the Family” envisions a future where “hyper-personalization” is the status quo:

“Inspired by advertisements of the 1950s and 1960s the film plays with a contrast of commonality, the (nuclear) family and today’s individualism. We live in a society that throws progress around lightly and only see the consequences when we have gone too far. We need to think about progress before deciding to embrace it, and with this film, I hope to activate people to do so, to truly understand and question it.”
