Visionist – “No Idols”

An intense video for producer Louis Carnell (aka Visionist) by London-based artist and photographer Teri Varhol. Taken from Carnell’s upcoming album Value, “No Idols” explores the relationship between idol/idolizer and the crushing consequences of offering oneself up as an emblem for others. While the symbolic imagery leave a lot open to personal interpretation, Varhol sees the project as following a rather clear trajectory: “For me it depicts a raw and intimate journey of self-discovery, travelling from rejection of mere idolatry through false beliefs and illusory egos, to discovery of the true self.”
