A dreamy dance piece set to the last piece from Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith’s The Mosaic of Transformation sessions by Los Angeles-based photographer and filmmaker Chantal Anderson. Made in collaboration with dancer Charles Roy Jr, “Becoming Ferromagnetic” is an ode to the electric potential of the body.
“The song finds Smith shaping sound instinctively with airy organ swirls and string-like pads, to the magnetic effect of its namesake. The West coast composer, artist, and producer described TMOT as her ‘expression of love and appreciation for electricity.’ This final transmission arrives with a sense of completion. From here, we look ahead to what’s next.”
