Kaytranada – “Look Easy” (The Short) feat. Lucky Daye

Director Xavier Tera creates a classic portrait of Japan with some modern twists for Kaytranada’s track with Lucky Daye. Inspired by Tera’s years living in Japan, “Look Easy” presents a seemingly traditional yakuza storyline, featuring the queen of Tokyo’s club scene (Luli), while incorporating subtle elements that hint toward the gradual changes in diversity and openness the city is currently undergoing. As Tera states:

“After living in Japan for the past 4 years, I’ve seen it change. Opening up slowly but clearly to the outside, the country is definitely investing time and money in preserving their culture, habits and customs. Some might seem advanced, others might feel from another era, for the best or the worst. This being said, I wanted to portray Japan using one of its utmost cliché, but change it slightly and change the narrative to update it to 2020.”
