Former world tour surfer Ricky Basnett shares his 8-year struggle with alcohol abuse in this hybrid music video for JONAH by South African director and cinematographer Jason Hearn. Known for his ability to capture intimate footage of people’s relationship with the sea, the band asked the now London-based filmmaker to adapt his short film, “No Regrets,” for their track. As Hearn reflects on the project:
“It has been great to repackage the story of my friend Ricky Basnett into a shorter format… The story has helped so many people and to see it now being reborn into a music video with an amazing song, we hope that more people will be inspired to turn around their lives for the better.”
