A charming portrait of Tokyo-based creative residence, Almost Perfect, by Melbourne-based director Ryan Gasparini. Run by Yuka and Luis Mendo (and their cat Señor), the space is located in a 100 year-old building that used to be a rice shop. As Gasparini explains:
“it’s as if the crazy neon lights and packed streets that everyone imagines when they picture the city have vanished and been replaced by cyclists, applied artists and locals peacefully going about their day… [Yuka and Luis] both used to work intense jobs, but decided to switch it up and start something that supports artists and brings people to a city they both live in and love.”
This is just one of the many wonderful submissions we’ve received in the past week. Consider participating here if you have a project you’d like us to check out!
