“Bompton” (aka the Blood side of Compton) is rife with poverty and violence. It also happens to be where the most exciting rap music is emerging. Part one of this Noisey documentary features Kendrick Lamar and his friends as they reflect on their experiences growing up in the area and the influence its had on Lamar’s music.
