Lots of lovely moments in this introspective video for George Gretton by London-based director Imogen Harrison. Building on the track’s themes of duality and juxtaposition, “Grey / Blue” explores the idea of being locked inside your own thoughts throughout the day but being free of those feelings at night. As Harrison explains further:
“George and I began creating this narrative of complete isolation in a usually chaotic landscape, which felt like a fitting visual metaphor. We knew the key to creating the pensive tension in this video was emptiness, so we spent a lot of time in the early hours of the morning, waiting for London’s roads to be empty and as we were shooting on film there wasn’t much room for error here, we did a lot more waiting than we did shooting, but I think it was worth the wait.”
