A moving documentary by Toronto-based director Mark Bone. The fifth instalment in the Filmsupply Presents series, “Rescate” follows the heroic efforts of volunteers in the Dominican Republic — a country with the highest traffic-related deaths and no paramedics. Taking it upon themselves to offer assistance to those in need, members of the group share their personal motivations for sacrificing sleep and safety to fill the role so desperately needed.
Warning: this video contains graphic images of injuries sustained from traffic collisions.
