New York City-based musicians Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong (aka The Books) document their latest collaboration with Vinyl Me, Please. Chosen as the record-of-the-month-club’s featured artist for November, the film explores Nick and Paul’s intricate composition techniques as well as how working on the project has helped their relationship.
As director Andrew Sales notes, the film offers a simultaneous glimpse of two very different artists.
“My goal with the video was to offer up two simultaneous portraits of two contrasting lives. I wanted to make something that could just be stared at, cued into on your own terms. Any secrets that were gleaned while we were with them, and what I hope is offered in the video, came from watching the cycle of how these two people who can’t stop creating choose to exist. Read. Eat. Sleep.”
