Good little twist to this stylish short by director Guillermo Carbonell. “La Peste” follows a young woman dealing with an unexpected visit from her elderly father. Shot in Uruguay, the score was composed by Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez. Warning: things get a bit gorey toward the end.
A wonderful adaptation of American author Jack London’s short story “To Build a Fire” by French filmmaker Fx Goby.
A beautifully shot documentary by Brooklyn-based director Geoff Levy. “Resistance” follows three models from Jacarezinho, one of the biggest favelas in Rio de Janeiro. Often overlooked due to their backgrounds, Caio, Camila and Natália resist preconceptions that favelas are only places of poverty and violence, and express the importance of including people from peripheral areas in the larger fashion world.
Nice animation work by Clara Gustafsson aka GOY. “Space is Only Noise if You Can See” is a visual adaption of a quote by Nicolas Jaar set to the track “Chting” by GOY’s good friend Lucas Fiorella.
Three young ladies karate-kick their way through the video for Les Sueques’s track “Acció” by Barcelona-based filmmaker Laura Garcia Alonso.
A series of captivating visuals for artist Daniel Adams-Ray’s Swedish pop collective Human directed by Oscar Lund-Hansen of Swim Club. Shot by Fredrik Lund-Hansen, “Higher” explores the tensions arising from a generation raised on technologies that entrap far more than they liberate. As Fredrik shared with us:
“I wanted to film each scene as a stand-alone instalment that lets you interpret the scenes as you see them.”

Saturday Night Live director Mike Bernstein helps to lighten the mood in this great ad for Roman, a men’s health start-up offering young men a non-embarrassing venue to seek help for erectile disfunction. By poking fun at all the on-the-nose visual metaphors and clichés of masculinity traditionally employed in such campaigns, the spot calls out the ways pharmaceutical companies prey on guys’ insecurities.

A compelling video for Aquilo by directing duo Molly Gale and Jancarlo Beck aka Sleepy Puppies. Shot in one-take in the Joshua Tree Desert, “Who Are You” offers a brief glimpse into a larger narrative one is left to assume based solely on what can be gleaned from the panicked aftermath. As the directors shared with us:
“We never know the before or the after — but we don’t really need to. It’s about human panic, confrontation, fear. It’s about the awful things that we never thought we were capable of doing.”

A fun and stylish reboot of the Mogwai franchise by Los Angeles-based writer and director Ryan Patrick. Shot on ARRI Alexa Mini with Panavision G Series lenses.
New video for MGMT by directors Mike Burakoff and Hallie Cooper-Novack. “When You Die” features Alex Karpovsky, Lucy Kaminsky and some pretty unique effects we’ve never really seen before! In fact, this is the first major music video to feature this particular AI Style Transfer technology and the directors actually developed their own software and hardware in the process. End title by Benjy Brooke. Check out the dreamy (yet slightly nightmarish) results above!
