Premiere: “Head” by Stav Levi

A lovely animation by Jerusalem-based filmmaker Stav Levi (aka croovman) with music by Trixerin. Created as Levi’s graduation thesis at Bezalel Academy for Art and Design, “Head” tells the story of a man who decides to divorce himself from his own head. While as seemingly straight-forward as its minimalist style suggests, the end result conveys a surprising amount of depth and unexpected emotion. As Levi shared with us:

“The principle was simple – A man separates from his head. But will it bounce, fall into the abyss, accidentally drop or thrown in anger? Every option resonated with me, and still does.”

Watch the video above and check out some early image tests below!

A very NSFW video for the live version of Justice’s track “Pleasure” by director Alexandre Courtès. Of course the sexually explicit nature of the visuals are getting most of the attention, but the lights and melting effects that actually make it worth watching!

Documentary: “Bury Me With The Lo On”

In the late ’80s a group of Brooklyn teenagers came together with the common goal of accumulating as much Polo Ralph Lauren as possible. Taking something that wasn’t meant for them and making it their own, the boosting crew known as the Lo Lifes would go on to influence hip hop culture and Polo collectors around the world.

New York-based photographer/director Tom Gould and Lo Life founder/rapper Thirstin Howl the 3rd have spent years working on the first-ever book about the group. To coincide with the limited second edition of Bury Me With The Lo On, Gould and Howl have released this documentary featuring unreleased footage, archival pictures and recent portraits of key Lo Life players and Polo collectors. Watch above and check out some of Gould’s photos below!
