Three brothers attempt to climb a mountain with a blue top in this deceptively adorable short by French director and animator Julien Piau. The sparse sound design really adds to the unsettling vibe!
Nice video for Ghost of a Chance’s track “Welcome to Career Day” by Marcel Meyer of creative studio finally. in Mainz, Germany.
Love the style of this homage to the great Giorgio Moroder! Brooklyn-based animator Nicolo Bianchino brings to life audio from Daft Punk’s album Random Access Memories where Giorgio recounts how he came up with that infamous synthesizer sound.
A unique little animation about a society of humanoid creatures that behave like animals. Check out the short Making Of with creators Julie Artigny, Lisa Bouët, Florent Bossoutrot, Claire Courrier and Camille Savary below!
A delightful animated instalment of the Great Big Story series. Monkees drummer, Micky Dolenz, recounts the Summer of 1967 and the bizarre period of time they had legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix as their opening act!
Check out the latest video from Saintseneca! Shot entirely with a 360 camera, “Book Of The Dead On Sale” is co-directed by the band’s own Zac Little and frequent collaborator Jon Washington.
Another round of interconnected animations from Chainamation. The ongoing collaborative series gives contributors 5 days to create a 1-2 second segment that builds from wherever the previous animator left off.
This instalment features: Brent Clouse, Linda McNeil, Camile Vincent, Kunal Sen, Handel Eugene & Heather-Lynn Aquino, Louis Wesolowsky, Shawn Hight, Casey Latiolais, Chieh Lee, Juan Behrens, Mathijs Luijten, Yino Huan, Kyle Martinez, Ira Hardy and DASH. Music by Ambrose Yu.
A poetic woodcut-inspired animation by director David Jansen and German studio Fabian&Fred (aka Fabian Driehorst and Frédéric Schuld). Co-written by Jansen and Sophie Biesenbach, “Däwit” tells the fable-like story of a man raised by wolves, who embarks on a journey to confront his past with the help of two loyal companions (a cat and an angel).
Belgium artist Frans Masereel’s woodcuts were a major inspiration behind the style of the film. Although animated digitally in TV Paint, the visuals beautifully mimic traditional woodcutting techniques – black is scratched out of white and white from black.
