A 3D animation for Dawn Geometry’s track “Ghost Culture.” Directed by Paris-based filmmaking duo Stef Meyer and Pascal Bourelier (aka Stef & Wyt), the video is inspired by NASA imagery and classic sci fi.
Director Bennett Johnson captures the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline, highlighting the spiritual aspect and the peaceful prayer not focused on by other media outlets. Foreign Fields’ “Hope Inside the Fire” was shot on expired 35mm film and pushed a couple stops to give it a lot of texture. The results are gorgeous and feel more like an experimental doc than a straightforward music video. Powerful stuff.

Fantastic opening titles for Blend animation festival by the supremely talented folks at Oddfellows. Love that they included everyone’s names not just the speakers!

1. Baby Driver
The latest trailer for what looks to be Edgar Wright’s masterpiece. Watch “TeKillYah”
above and check out the rest of our picks of the week below!
2. Hounds of Love
The initial trailer for this film was too disturbing to post. This one is slightly more palatable. (But only slightly).
3. Logan Lucky
An anti-Ocean’s movie by Ocean’s director Steven Soderbergh. In his words: “Nobody dresses nice. Nobody has nice stuff. They have no money. They have no technology… This is a version of an Ocean’s movie that’s up on cement blocks in your front yard.”
4. Oats Studios: Volume 1
Director Neill Blomkamp (District 9) returns to his short film roots, teasing his experimental Oats Studios project.
5. The Deuce
Really wish this was a full trailer and not just a teaser but “From the creators of The Wire” might be all we need to know.
A lovely video for The Moth Club’s track “She’s Left.” UK-based filmmaker Matthew Sterling perfectly captures an awkward yet intimate exchange between a young couple the morning before one of them leaves for university. Cinematography by Dominic Döring.
