Filmmaker Dakota Hill explores the reconstruction of a cultural memory through dance and visual storytelling in this lovely animation. Made as a final project while studying the History of Animation and Chicanx Representation in Cinema at UC Davis, “Avenida Naranja (Orange Memory)” features the choreography of Hill’s friend, Karina Valdez, which he dutifully traced, rotoscoping each movement frame by frame.

Sia raises awareness for the effect of HIV on women and their unborn children in the video for her latest track. Directed by Blake Martin and choreographed once again by Ryan Heffington, “Free Me” stars Zoe Saldana and is narrated by Julianne Moore. All proceeds from the track support endhiv.com.
