An inspiring portrait of Brian Schroeder, founder of indoor skate park Green Bay Action Sports Organization (GBASO). Directed by Keenan Wetzel, with beautiful cinematography by Paul Theodoroff, “All In” touches on Schroeder’s recently-discovered brain tumour and the role skateboarding has played in learning to live fearlessly.
A fun look at Los Angeles-based stylist Shirley Kurata and how her own personal uniform has caught on among her friends and fans. Directed by photography duo, and longtime Kurata collaborators, Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud (aka photography JUCO).
Written and directed by filmmaker Chell Stephen of Think/Feel, “You’re Alight, You’re Okay” follows a quietly angry woman as she tries to adopt the wisdom of a useless meditation app.
A raw exploration of modern youth culture by UK-based filmmaker Matthew Sterling (previously featured here). Set to the track “So” by Alice Jemima, “Urban Youth” was created for Straight 8, which dictated that the entire film be shot on one super 8mm cartridge with only in-camera edits and no post-production, meaning that Sterling’s short was processed and entered into the competition without his having seen a single frame!
This video is just one of the many creative submissions we’ve received in the past week. Consider participating here if you have a project you’d like us to check out.
