Phoenix – “Ti Amo”

Documentary: “Devoted” by Lucas Beaufort

As a skateboarding enthusiast and avid magazine consumer, French artist Lucas Beaufort has spent the last year travelling the globe discussing the future of print with the most influential figures in skateboard media. The result is an hour-long documentary honouring the people who have spent their lives creating something that has meant and continues to mean so much.

“(The [End) of History Illusion]” by Celia Rowlson-Hall

A surreal short written, directed and choreographed by New York-based filmmaker Celia Rowlson-Hall (previously featured here). The 14th film in the Miu Miu Women’s Tales Series, “(The [End) of History Illusion]” explores the relationship between fear and commercialism through a retro-esque ad for a luxury bomb shelter that feels all too timely.

Haim – “Valentine”

Earlier this year Haim released a live performance of “Right Now” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. They’ve now added footage from two more tracks — “Something To Tell You” and “Nothing’s Wrong” — for an extended version of the Valentine Recording Studios session, simply titled “Valentine.”

Animation: Anim’est Trailer by Luiz Stockler

Nice little promo for Anim’est 2017 by Luiz Stockler (previously featured here), with sound design by Ana Roman.The annual festival takes place in Bucharest, Romania and was the first to showcase the London-based animator back in 2010.  The short piece touches on several cultural landmarks as well as personal moments from Stockler’s visits to the city over the years.
