“Blood Brothers” by Miguel Coimbra & Marco Espirito Santo

A stark portrait of Portuguese-style bullfighting by Lisbon-based directors Miguel Coimbra and Marco Espirito Santo. “Blood Brothers” follows the Forcados Amadores de Montemor as they return to the arena for the first time after the death of their former leader. Unlike traditional bullfighting, these young men work together to subdue the bull as a unit. According to the directors the intention behind the piece was to focus on that collective dynamic and “make it as raw and unromantic as possible.” Original score by Mikkel Solnado.

“Cloud of Petals” by Sarah Meyohas

French-American artist Sarah Meyohas traces the intersection of beauty and digitization with her installation, “Cloud of Petals.” The project involved 16 men, hand-picking what they considered the most beautiful flower petals over the course of 4 days. The 100,000 selections were then pressed, photographed and uploaded to the cloud. Watch the short video above or check out Meyohas’ exhibition at Red Bull Arts in New York until December 10.
