The Transport Accident Commission in Australia has created a sculpture to show what human beings would look like if we evolved to the point where we could survive traffic collisions. Made in consultation with a trauma surgeon and a car crash investigator, “Graham” is meant to draw attention to our physical vulnerability and the importance of road safety. Basically, in order to survive on today’s roads we’d have to have no neck, more fat on our faces to protect our nose and ears, a lot thicker skin and knees that bend in all directions.
